Company Description Baird has an opportunity for an experienced Marine Structural Engineer who is energized by meaningful work and motivated to help shape resilient coastal and marine infrastructure. In this role, you’ll take the lead on structural design, analysis, and project delivery for a wide range of waterfront and marine projects. You’ll collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, support clients across regions, and contribute to solutions that enhance communities and coastlines. Job Description What You Will Do Lead structural engineering design and analysis for marine infrastructure such as deep foundations, piers, harbour walls, bulkheads, retaining walls, and cofferdams. Develop high-quality concrete and steel drawings and details—either manually or using CAD tools. Perform structural analyses using SAP2000 or similar finite element software. Apply current codes, standards, and industry best practices to all aspects of design. Prepare clear, well-structured technical reports and documentation. Manage projects effectively, ensuring quality, client satisfaction, and timely delivery. Work collaboratively with internal and external, geographically distributed teams. Engage directly with clients, offering thoughtful solutions and maintaining strong relationships. Travel occasionally for site visits, project meetings, and field assignments (typically 1–2 weeks at a time, with some longer opportunities). Qualifications What You Bring 12+ years of structural engineering experience related to marine infrastructure. Registration as a Professional Engineer with Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO). Demonstrated ability to successfully design and analyze structures as an individual contributor. Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English. Proven project management capabilities. Ability to work effectively in a fast-moving environment with evolving priorities and deadlines. Nice to Have Experience in geotechnical, arctic, offshore, or construction engineering (including familiarity with EnSoft software). M.Sc. or M.Eng. in Civil, Structural, or related engineering field. Broad interest in marine and coastal engineering.
