Position Summary The Senior Market Strategist is a key member of the investment team, responsible for shaping the firm’s macroeconomic outlook and delivering timely market insights to internal stakeholders and clients. This role analyzes global economic trends, interprets market data, and translates complex insights into clear, actionable perspectives. Working closely with portfolio managers, the CIO, and advisors, the Senior Market Strategist supports investment decision-making, portfolio positioning, and the firm’s overall strategic direction. Job Responsibilities Conduct research across global asset classes (equities, fixed income, alternatives, real estate, and commodities) to inform investment and allocation decisions Build and maintain proprietary models and data sets to assess market conditions and asset allocation strategies Identify emerging risks and opportunities across global markets and investment sectors Develop forward-looking market outlooks, scenario analyses, and strategic insights Partner with the Investments and Market Strategy teams to produce research and support asset allocation frameworks Create and deliver market commentary and investment insights through written reports, presentations, and events for diverse audiences (advisors, institutional and retail investors, and media) Contribute to Investment Committee discussions and firmwide house views Requirements Curious, independent thinker with a global mindset Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable insights Effective communicator with strong writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills Collaborative team player who thrives in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines High level of professionalism, integrity, and commitment to fiduciary standards Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work both independently and cross-functionally Positive attitude and strong work ethic Ability to successfully pass criminal background / credit check required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree required; CFA and/or Master’s in Finance, Economics, or Business preferred 7–10 years of experience in strategy, economics, or market research Proven experience communicating complex market insights to institutional and retail audiences Advanced proficiency in Bloomberg, FactSet, or similar financial data platforms Experience building and analyzing financial models and large data sets Experience presenting market outlooks, research, and data insights across reports, presentations, media, or digital channels Benefits Competitive PTO/Holiday policy 401k match 1st day eligible benefits offering; medical, dental, vision, telemed, disability, + Paid Maternity/Paternity leave Fun and welcoming office environment with monthly and quarterly events Ability to work remotely 20% Cell phone stipend EPP Why HB is a great place to work Employees enjoy the collaborative, inclusive, team environment where they feel challenged and supported.
