SUMMARY

The Senior Marketing Engagement Specialist develops and executes marketing strategies to drive brand awareness, membership growth, and support community engagement. This role manages digital platforms, including social media, website, mobile app, and digital advertising, while using analytics to optimize performance and ROI. The specialist also leads external communications ensuring consistent and effective brand representation.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience is required, including proven experience in marketing, social media management, event planning, and community engagement. A Master’s degree in a related field may be considered in combination with fewer years of experience.
  • Knowledge of all products and services offered by the credit union, preferred
  • Highly attentive to detail and accuracy in all work.
  • Verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision while performing duties.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong leadership ability and willingness to help others outside of regular job duties.
  • Knowledge of multiple state and federal banking compliance, regulations, and financial institution (specifically credit union) policies.
  • Ability to help contribute to strong teams to meet performance goals.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • Proficiency in communication plan development and project management
  • Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
  • Understanding of social media platforms, data analytics (Google), SEO, and marketing automation
  • Writing proficiency and experience developing marketing content including blog posts, press releases and marketing colleterial information (presentations, fact sheets, etc.)
  • Passion for brainstorming, creativity, and problem solving
  • Proactive work ethic with strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Photoshop/Illustrator
  • Experience with CMS systems
  • Ability to take ownership, anticipate issues and work ahead to meet deadlines
  • Ability to multitask in high-demand, high-volume environment
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with key business partners and vendors
  • Knowledge of finance industry, or similarly regulated industry

ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY

The incumbent is in a non-confined office type setting in which he or she is free to move about at will. The position includes driving to MCCU branches which includes exposure to the outside weather elements and moving mechanical parts. It may include some minor annoyances such as noise, odors, drafts, etc.
The incumbent in the course of performing this position spends time writing, typing, speaking, listening, lifting (up to 50 pounds), driving, carrying, seeing (such as close, color and peripheral vision, depth perception and adjusted focus), sitting, pulling, walking, standing, squatting, kneeling, and reaching.
The incumbent for this position may operate any or all of the following: telephone, cellular telephone, smart phone device, copy and fax machines, adding machine (calculator), check protector, scanner, and image systems, scanning equipment, encoder, money counter, credit card terminal, typewriter, computer terminal, laptop computer, personal computer and related printers, or other equipment as directed.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Develop and execute marketing strategies and campaigns to promote products, services, or events. that increases brand awareness and drive membership growth.
  • Oversee all digital platforms—including social media, the website, and mobile app—using our social media engagement platform to maximize user engagement.
  • Support and implement SEO strategies to improve website visibility, search rankings, and organic traffic in collaboration with internal teams or external partners.
  • Use Marketing Analytics to track performance, identify trends, and inform strategy adjustments.
  • Partner with the marketing team to design and create marketing content for promotions and campaigns that align with overall credit union goals.
  • Respond to reviews, comments, messages, and inquiries on social media platforms in a timely and professional manner.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop compelling and impactful marketing collateral, creative design, including content, visuals, and videos.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with community organizations, non-profits, and local businesses to foster partnerships and enhance community involvement.
  • Conduct quarterly audits of in-branch marketing materials to ensure brand consistency, accuracy, and regulatory compliance, and coordinate updates as needed.
  • Support the team on driving the marketing strategy for financial education to support credit union goals and enhance member value.
  • Provide ongoing internal marketing support across departments.
  • Craft and distribute external communications, including press releases, member statement messages, and public announcements, ensuring consistent brand voice and alignment with organizational objectives.
  • Support the marketing team with the execution of volunteer events and initiatives.
  • Act as an ambassador of the credit union, maintaining professionalism and integrity in all business dealings.

SECONDARY DUTIES

  • Stay up to date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies to drive innovation in marketing efforts.
  • Stay informed of relevant laws, regulations and industry standards pertaining to campaigns and marketing disclosures.
  • Credit Union Events and Activities – Expected to participate in various internal and charitable events promoted by the credit union.
