DESCRIPTION

Michels Canada is looking for a Sr. Marketing and Cultural Specialist The Sr. Marketing and Cultural Specialist will ensure definition and execution of regional internal and external marketing activities in partnership with the US team. It will focus on the regional strategy, digital marketing efforts including, social media tactics, content creation, website enhancements, search engine optimization and graphic design. This position will work closely with Marketing and Human Resources on employee cultural initiatives, tradeshows and events that help support the overall company engagement. The successful candidate will be performing a wide range of tasks and support business priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position will be based in Nisku, Edmonton, AB.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Expertise with social media tools, platforms, and trending strategies
  • Experience with Media and stakeholder engagements (e.g., industry groups, general public) and budget management
  • Ability to utilize social media and modern digital platforms to support Marketing initiative
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative, Microsoft Office Suite, MacIntosh and PC computers
  • Valid passport with the ability to travel the US
  • Valid driver’s license, required to operate a vehicle on a public roadway

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Prior experience in the Construction, Utilities, or Infrastructure sectors
  • Experience working with Marketing agencies and teams to create content for corporate initiatives and social media channels (LinkedIn, Twitter) and managing in person or online events

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Digital Media, or related field, 5 years of relevant experience with proven track record of marketing and digital accomplishments, or equivalent combination
Responsibilities
  • Maintain and promote a strong safety culture for all employees, vendors, and customers and follow all safety policies, procedures, and regulations. Identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
  • Assist the Director of Marketing and Communications to establish the marketing departments overall strategic goals for Canada.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the organization’s social media strategy, developing brand awareness, generating inbound traffic, and encouraging Michels service offerings. Cultivate an engaged social media community
  • Perform day-to-day monitoring, posting and social listening across all social media channels while responding to any comments, questions, or trending topics in a timely manner.
  • Stay on top of the latest marketing and construction industry trends through consistent research.
  • Keep up to date on social trends, react to insights, and use analytics to shape strategy and hone tactics.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts within the organization to produce thought leadership content to build brand strength and position Michels as leaders in our industries.
  • Manage multiple company websites.
  • Manage the trade show budgets within pre-established guidelines. Develop and execute strategy, plans, and activities within the approved budget. Organize and track expenses from year to year.
  • Lead initiatives, drive change, and support on-going improvement across Canada. Identify and manage new initiatives as directed by leadership.
  • Build and Manage relationships with employees at office locations to ensure integration of the Michels brand and cross selling the company culture. Keep a strong pulse on employee engagement and proactively gain insights from employees and available analytics.
  • Assist with the creation of company’s print and digital communication materials, from creation through publication, adhering to tight deadlines.
  • Coordinate photo/video shoots of projects, jobsites, and employees for use in marketing materials.
