Description Objective: As a Sr. Material Handler, you will be responsible for handling, moving, and storing various non-hazardous and hazardous materials within a warehouse and yard facility. Ensuring the quality of load builds and training of personnel in the yard. Duties will include, but are not limited to, picking and packing materials, loading and unloading various transport items, recording inventory statuses, and making sure deliveries properly match purchase orders. You will maintain a current forklift certification and follow all company safety guidelines. This position requires patience and steadiness, along with a teamwork mentality. Duties/Responsibilities Verify the accuracy of the quantity and quality of incoming and outgoing deliveries Monitor and ensure quality assurance on all yard material and activities Ensure the accuracy of the load build for clients Aid in the training of yard personnel Label/Scan every product and put it away accordingly Identify, pull, and wrap the correct products per the customer order Handle returns by completing documentation and other required communication Keep all material handling equipment in the best condition by conducting regular maintenance and logs Cycle counting and identifying any inventory issues Communicating issues that would include missing and/or damaged material, as well as material that may have been pulled or received incorrectly. Keep work areas neat and tidy Other duties as assigned Requirements Required Skills/Abilities: Follow all policies and procedures in the yard, including sales, inventory, and safety Participate in safety training Properly use and maintain equipment Lead by example, with first-hand knowledge in the area of expertise Works well in a group setting Written and verbal communication skills Ability to handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously Qualifications: Forklift certification Knowledge of operating other warehouse machinery Excellent time management and organizational skills Critical thinking skills to quickly solve issues and/or problems Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines Physical Requirements: · Ability to lift at least 50 pounds as needed throughout the day · Climb, kneel, reach, or bend throughout the day · Must wear safety gear, such as goggles and gloves, while performing work · Ability to operate all equipment on site as necessary · Able to withstand environmental temperatures.
