Description:

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE OF THE SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGNER

  • Experience in a detailed design environment
  • Good knowledge of CAD tools
  • Knowledge of General Engineering Drawing Practice
  • Breadth and depth of experience in a range of commercial or defence projects

QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGNER

  • HNC minimum in a relevant discipline OR equivalent academic qualification

THE ROLE

As a Senior Mechanical Designer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The role involves designing and developing solutions, resolving design issues, and providing technical advice and governance.

Day-to-day, you’ll act as a point of contact for design-related issues and contributing to design reviews as well as resolving production and technical queries.

  • Allocating tasks and ensuring coordination among design teams.
  • Promoting cooperation across teams and managing customer relationships.
  • Advising on methods and tools, and assisting the design team.
  • Preparing drawings in line with ISO standards.
  • Developing innovative design solutions and leading low-risk projects.
  • Maintaining knowledge of best practices and industry developments.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements with 2 days in the office/onsite and 3 days working from home.
