A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer in the team to join a UK known manufacturer in the Pulborough!

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree BSc / BEng qualification in Mechanical Engineering
  • Proficiency with 3D CAD software - ideally Solid Works but other programmes might also be considered
  • Minimum 3 years of industry experience, working on designs for manufacture
  • Ideally have some experience supervising others and leading teams
  • Have the ability to carry out mechanical calculations
  • Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
  • Have excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office
Responsibilities
  • Working within the current engineering team with other Design Engineers
  • Managing a small team of Designers
  • Perform mechanical design calculations and analyses using FEA tools
  • Review drawings and design results
  • Analyse component data and assess for suitability for DFM
  • Being involved in recruitment / expanding the team
  • Seeing through design projects from concept through to completion
  • Producing 3D designs using Solidworks
  • Generating the BOM’s to go with the associated designs
  • Liaising with colleagues on other engineering tasks as required
  • You will be working closely with project engineers, physicists and production staff.
