We’re hiring on behalf of our client in Wexford a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a leading manufacturer of packaging and automation equipment.
In this role, you’ll take full ownership of mechanical design projects from concept through FAT/SAT, working closely with cross-functional teams. Ideal for someone with strong CAD skills (SolidWorks), hands-on experience in high-speed machinery, and a solid understanding of GMP and CE standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the mechanical design of custom automation systems
• Create 3D models, 2D drawings, and BOMs
• Manage full project lifecycle – DQ, FAT, SAT
• Ensure compliance with safety and industry standards
• Collaborate with electrical/controls teams and suppliers
• Mentor junior engineers and drive design improvements

What We’re Looking For:

• 8+ years in mechanical design (5+ in automation/machinery)
• Expert in SolidWorks and PDM systems
• Strong knowledge of pneumatics, servo systems, cams
• Familiar with GMP, CE, ISO 12100/13849
• Confident communicator, team player, problem-solver
