Job Summary Meritec is seeking an experienced Senior Design Engineer to lead the design and development of innovative connector and cable assembly products. This role focuses primarily on new product development (80%) while also supporting existing products (20%). Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this position plays a critical role in driving technical excellence from concept through production. This position is onsite, full-time in our Painesville, Ohio manufacturing facility. Duties and Responsibilities Design and develop new connector and cable assembly products based on customer and market requirements. Lead and participate in formal design reviews throughout the product development cycle. Generate 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks. Collaborate with process engineering to develop and implement new manufacturing processes for newly designed products. Ensure product designs meet all functional, performance, and reliability requirements. Maintain and manage design documentation and revision history. Provide technical support to customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Identify and drive improvements in design processes and tools. Guide and mentor junior engineers and designers on best practices and technical skills. Optimize new and existing designs by collaborating with manufacturing to ensure DFM, reliability and cost-effective production. Lead risk analysis efforts and implement strategies for new designs (FMEA). Drive innovation by keeping up with industry trends and new technologies. Perform GD&T stack-up analysis. Travel to customer and supplier sites required. Estimated 10% travel.
