Description

We’re seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer who thrives on solving complex problems, pushing boundaries, and designing mechanical systems that lead the market in performance, efficiency, and innovation. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 7+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in product development or R&D environments.
  • Proficient in 3D CAD modeling, specifically using SolidWorks.
  • Demonstrated experience bringing complex mechanical systems from concept through to production.
  • Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as injection molding, machining, casting, and additive manufacturing.
  • Ability to perform engineering analyses (e.g., stress, thermal, vibration) using simulation tools such as FEA.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts clearly and collaborate across disciplines.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in early-stage R&D or startup environments with a high innovation velocity.
  • Hands-on prototyping and testing experience, with a fail-fast, learn-fast mindset.
  • Background in electromechanical system integration, robotics, or automation.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems, ERP integration, and agile development methodologies.
  • Record of contributions to the engineering community through issued patents, technical publications, or conference presentations.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Concept Development & Early Innovation
  • Lead mechanical innovation from concept through feasibility by applying design thinking methodologies, competitive benchmarking, and cross-functional ideation, ensuring alignment with market trends, user insights, and technical feasibility.
  • Execute Agile Prototyping & Iterative Design
  • Rapidly prototype and iterate designs using CAD (SolidWorks), additive manufacturing, and agile sprint cycles. Incorporate user feedback and test data to refine concepts quickly.
  • Perform Engineering Analysis & Design Validation
  • Apply mechanical engineering principles and material science expertise using SolidWorks, Ansys, and FEA. Lead design validation through simulation, test planning, and physical testing. Correlate test results with analytical predictions to ensure performance, reliability, and compliance with requirements.
  • Apply DFM/DFA Principles & Support Production Readiness
  • Design and validate parts and assemblies using DFM/DFA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and DFMEA. Collaborate with manufacturing, sourcing, and suppliers to ensure production-ready and scalable designs.
  • Drive Innovation Roadmaps & Technical Workstreams
  • Own mechanical deliverables within platform strategies. Advance innovation initiatives through sprint planning, documentation, and cross-functional coordination.
  • Lead Testing & Design Evaluation
  • Design and execute experiments to validate function, durability, and compliance. Use test results to mitigate risk and optimize product performance.
  • Enable Cross-Functional Product Integration
  • Collaborate with electrical, software, industrial design, and process development teams to deliver integrated, system-level solutions.
  • Support IP Development & Technology Discovery
  • Identify patentable innovations and contribute to IP documentation. Explore emerging materials, methods, and tools to expand Dekko’s innovation pipeline.
  • Mentor & Elevate Team Capabilities
  • Provide technical mentorship to junior engineers. Foster a culture of creativity, excellence, and practical innovation across the team.
