    The Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will lead the design of catheter-based devices, sheaths, and disposable delivery tools and accessories required for A trial Fibrillation a blation procedures. Development of these devices will be done as a member of a cross-functional team, working from concept through market release, including product support and transition to high volume manufacturing.

  • Design and/or fabricate ablation catheters, guide sheaths, and implant procedure accessories from either a detailed specification, or a less defined customer need. Lead the design of catheter based devices, sheaths, and disposable delivery tools and accessories required for AF ablation procedures.
  • Interpret results, document, and present clear, accurate findings through technical design reviews.
  • Plan and execute design test techniques using standard lab equipment for bench and in-vivo conditions.
  • Set up and conduct tests of complete units in support of characterization, design verification, and design validation activities.
  • Perform analysis of catheter constructions in an effort to develop a method for manufacturing which leverages existing manufacturing technologies within the facilit y .
  • Work with a cross functional technical team (Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality, Reliability, and Component Engineers) to develop, verify, validate and implement new product designs.
  • Provide work direction to technicians for design, development, and verification.
  • Consult with customers, physicians and patients to understand needs and product requirements.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • B achelor’s Degree in Engineering and a minimum of 4 years relevant experience or an advanced degree in Engineering and 2 years of relevant experience

DESIRED/PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Working knowledge of catheter-based systems technologies and catheter manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in designing and developing laboratory experiments.
  • Ability to apply judgment in determining the appropriate work methods needed to achieve results.
  • Proven ability to accomplish critical project level objectives in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of ISO and Quality System Regulation requirements.
  • Ability to apply Design for Reliability and Manufacturing principles in daily work activities.
  • Ability to effectively communicate across functions
