SHAPE THE FUTURE WITH US We offer you a motivating environment with exciting projects and would appreciate to welcome you in our team as a: SENIOR MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER - RAIL DOMAIN Job location: Firenze Role Overview The selected resource will be directly engaged in the engineering project activities, with increasing levels of autonomy, responsibility and coordination, will give support to Mechanical Integration activities and deliverables, within the perimeter of projects and tenders of his/her own assignment, applying appropriate instructions, processes and tools. Technical responsibilities Support and coordination of development activities during bid and project phases on mechanical integration design of the vehicles (including interiors/exteriors, underframe, roof and cab)Definition/validation of design requirements for mechanical integration and fittings Analysis and validation of Suppliers' technical proposals Development of 3D/2D drawings and design for Mechanical Integration and installation activities, from concept up to final release Validation of structural design, via FEM analysis report reviewProduction support and follow up updates, including change management Project Design reviews with Customer and Suppliers We are known for our extraordinary people who make the impossible possible every day. Work Experience Required Skills/ Knowledge Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background At least 5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally within Rail domain Good knowledge of pneumatic/ hydraulic design, interiors/exteriors design, mechanical fittings and secondary structures design Good knowledge of bolted, riveted connections and welded joints Good knowledge of materials characteristics and FEM calculation reports analysis/review Basic knowledge of electrics and cabling is required Knowledge of the main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, etc) Knowledge of mechanical design software (AutoCad, Creo, Catia, etc) and any eventual requirements management tool (Doors,…) Knowledge of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations Readiness to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multitasking international environment Ability to work autonomously and to organize coordinate activities of others Availability for short-term national and international business trips Good knowledge of written and spoken English is mandatory (at least B2 level) Desired Skills/ Knowledge Ability to manage and plan the assigned tasks independently and team-working Ability to analyze business requirements, problem-solving attitude and business process analysis Planning and organizationVersatile in learning and strong desire to remain up-to-date with changes in technology and best industry practices Strong business acumen & technical skills Good communication and interpersonal skills Attitude to work in an international and multi-cultural environment
