XTEND is looking for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our mechanical team. Working as part of the R&D team, this role focuses on the design and development of complex mechanical systems from concept through production. Responsibilities Design and develop mechanical assemblies such as drones, payloads, and support equipment. Work through the full development cycle: concept, design, prototyping, testing, and production. Build, test, and validate designs. Work closely with electrical and system engineers to solve integration challenges. Design for manufacturability, assembly, and cost (DFX). Create clear production drawings (including GD&T). Support production, suppliers, and NPI processes. Requirements B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering. 5+ years of experience in mechanical design of complex systems. Strong proficiency with SOLIDWORKS. Hands-on experience in building, assembling, and testing mechanical systems. Knowledge of manufacturing processes: CNC machining, plastic technologies, composites, and 3D printing. Good understanding of tolerances, fits, and real-world behavior of parts. Independent, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment. Advantages Experience with drones, UAVs, or robotic systems, including lightweight structures. Experience working with SOLIDWORKS PDM.
