We seek an experienced, reliable, and motivated Senior Mechanical Designer to add to our team!
JOB SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Sr. Mechanical Designer’s primary function is to provide full-cycle mechanical designs and drawings from concept to completed product for Genset Enclosures, Fuel Tanks, Modified Containers, and other custom products.
JOB SPECIFIC QUALIFICATIONS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE:
- College Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology or University degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 8+ years of Mechanical Engineering and design experience in a fabrication and assembly work environment.
- Must be able to demonstrate attention to detail and provide accuracy in structural analysis, fluid flow calculations, and engineering report preparation.
- Demonstrated experience with SolidWorks CAD software is mandatory. Advanced knowledge of sheet metal modeling, welded assemblies, welding symbols, pipe and conduit routing. Knowledge of SolidWorks FEA module is a plus.
- Experience working with Electromechanical systems requiring deep knowledge of how components interact, wiring schematics, and control strategies.
- Knowledge of hydraulics and cooling systems, standard fittings, component fastening, and hardware.
- Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel primarily in North America but potentially abroad.

Responsibilities:
- Create and design for manufacturability sheet metal, welding, and complex assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Work with other engineering disciplines (i.e. process, applications, and electrical) to create designs that integrate power, electromechanical, and mechanical systems and that factor in environmental conditions for end users.
- Research and analyze customer design proposals, specifications, manuals, and other data to evaluate the feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements of designs and applications.
- Provide testing, load ratings, and detailed structural analysis using finite element (FEA).
- Provide external technical support to new and existing customers through field visits, customer meetings, and design reviews.
- Provide internal technical support to the shop floor including interpretation of internal and customer drawings and specifications.
- Manage multiple projects with short-term and competing deadlines at any given time.
- Estimating, including material selection and Bill of Material (BOM) creation.
