Description

Rolmaster Conveyors, a Canadian manufacturing company, is seeking a Permanent Full Time Senior Mechanical Designer as soon as possible.
Salary, 40 hours per week (Monday to Friday Flex Hours - 7:30 am to 5:00 pm). Location is on bus route.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Engineering Technician / Technologist or equivalent
  • Knowledge of steel fabrication, sheet metal design and welding
  • Proficient in SolidWorks 2020 or newer
  • Proficient in Windows 11, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Ability to read technical drawings
  • Excellent detailing and drawing creation skills
  • Good problem solving and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently or as a lead on a project team
  • Experience in power transmission design, pneumatics and load calculations
  • Knowledge of general manufacturing techniques
  • Please Note: Will be required to spend time on the shop floor through a training program designed to get some hands on experience on all aspects of fabrication.
Responsibilities
  • Design standard and custom accessories for conveyors.
  • 3D Modeling of components and assemblies.
  • Strength of material calculations to support designs.
  • Work with production scheduling to keep projects on track.
  • Support procurement of materials in a timely manner.
  • Completion of engineering calculations as required.
  • Preparation of fabrication drawings using SolidWorks.
  • Assist Sales department in determining the most suitable method of conveyance.
  • Proactive and accountable for deadlines and job requirements.
  • Follow company standards, policies and procedures.
