XYZ Designers is seeking a qualified Senior Mechanical Engineer (Design) to lead the design of mechanical systems across high-value building projects in Dubai. The ideal candidate will bring extensive local UAE experience, strong technical expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems, and a proven record of managing the mechanical design for at least two projects each valued at AED 100M or above.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience, with at least 5 years in the UAE in a consultancy environment.
• Proven experience managing mechanical design on at least 2 projects in Dubai valued at AED 100M+ each.
• Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, NFPA, and UAE/local authority regulations.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, and MS Office; familiarity with Navisworks is an advantage.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.
• Ability to manage design timelines, resources, and deliverables.

• Lead and oversee the design of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection) from concept to detailed design.
• Ensure compliance with Dubai/UAE codes and authority regulations (e.g., DEWA, DCD, DM).
• Coordinate closely with architects, other disciplines (MEP, structural, ID), and sub-consultants.
• Manage client expectations and participate in design presentations and technical meetings.
• Review and approve mechanical design submissions, specifications, BOQs, and tender packages.
• Supervise junior engineers and CAD/Revit technicians in the preparation of coordinated drawings.
• Conduct technical evaluations of contractor/shop drawing submittals during construction stage (if required).
• Provide value engineering and technical input during project development and tendering.
• Report to the MEP Design Manager or Project Director as required.
