Our client, a world leader in biotechnology and life sciences, is looking for a "Sr Mechanical Engineer, Early R&D" based out of Santa Clara, CA. Job Duration: Long Term Contract (Possibility Of Extension) Pay Rate : $70/hr on W2 We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to design and develop advanced DNA sequencing instrumentation. This hands-on role focuses on building and integrating electro-mechanical, fluidic, thermal, and pneumatic systems to ensure high performance, reliability, and scalability of next-generation platforms. We do NOT need any kind of specialty in fluidics/microfluidics but experience with life science instrumentation is still very much preferred. Key Responsibilities: Design and develop mechanical sub-systems (electro-mechanical, fluidics, thermal, pneumatic) Create solutions for automated loading, sealing, and system integration Develop and optimize thermal control systems Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, materials, and systems teams Lead design reviews, integration, testing, and troubleshooting Maintain CAD models, engineering drawings, and documentation Drive timelines, technical decisions, and innovation for system architecture Qualifications: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Bio engineering, or related field (BS/MS/PhD with relevant experience) Strong hands-on experience in mechanical system design and testing (life sciences/diagnostics preferred) Expertise in fluidics, thermal systems, and precision engineering Proficiency in 3D CAD (e.g., SolidWorks) and manufacturing methods Experience with prototyping tools and lab instrumentation Knowledge of Python, LabVIEW, or similar tools for testing and data acquisition Preferred: Experience with NGS/genomics instrumentation Familiarity with CFD/FEA simulation tools Experience in regulated product development environments If interested, please send us your updated resume at hr@dawarconsulting.com/akansha@dawarconsulting.com
