QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Tertiary Qualification in Mechanical Engineering;
• 10+ years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer that includes experience in the Mining Industry;
• Mining experience in hard rock applications;
• Prior experience with vibrating screens, centrifugal slurry pumps, conveyors and chutes;
• Strong conceptual thinking and analytical focus;
• Excellent problem-solving skills and continual improvement focus;
• Knowledge of relevant mines legislations and regulations;
• Knowledge of computer management systems, including SAP; and
• Advanced time management, planning, organizational, scheduling and coordination skills.

• Providing technical support to our Operational Projects teams execution capital works including scoping, design review & technical queries;
• Support to our existing Operations by investigating equipment failures, support during breakdown events & shutdowns, providing direction & technical guidance to site stakeholders and coaching and mentoring of engineers;
• Providing sound Engineering Standards to ensure our people are safe and our assets are reliable and efficient;
• Providing safety leadership to effectively identify and manage technical risks across Fortescue; and
• Achieving targets set for defined sections of area budgets.
