Description

OUR MISSION

Our mission at Green Matters Technologies Inc. is to be a visionary force in creating transformative, zero-emission products in the HVAC marketplace. We believe the future is about building innovative, green technologies that can be both environmentally sustainable and commercially viable.
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the fundamental engineering design of mechanical systems for advanced heat recovery and heat pump solutions. The role involves applying deep expertise in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, process flow design, and system modeling to develop efficient, reliable, and innovative systems. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will work closely with our Chief Implementation Officer (CIO) and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver optimized solutions from concept through detailed design, manufacturing, and testing.

REQUIRED SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

  • Strong knowledge of thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics.
  • Proficiency in process flow design, system modeling, and simulation tools such as MATLAB or EES.
  • Expertise in heat pump cycles, refrigeration principles, and energy recovery systems.
  • Solid understanding of mechanical system design using pumps, compressors, heat exchangers, valves, piping.
  • Familiarity with CAD and engineering design tools such as Solid Edge, AutoCAD, or equivalent.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on engineering mindset.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and technical writing for reports.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary engineering teams.
  • Innovative thinker with a drive for continuous improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 8+ years of experience in mechanical/thermal system engineering, ideally within heat recovery, refrigeration, HVAC, or energy systems industries.
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) license is strongly preferred (or eligibility to obtain).
  • Proven track record in system design, modeling, and development of complex mechanical systems.
  • Experience working in manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and strong work habits.

WHO WE ARE

Green Matters Technologies Inc. was founded in British Columbia as a private Original
Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and has evolved into a visionary company that focuses on creating environmentally sustainable products in the energy sector.
After nearly a decade of research and development, we developed the “CE-K500” prototype. This machine extracts waste heat from AC chillers and utilizes it to create hot water at efficiencies up to 610% without the need for a conventional boiler or fossil fuels. Two Prototype CE-K500 machines have been installed in a large Caribbean hotel for 10 years, providing 100% of their domestic hot water needs, and saving 340 tonnes of CO2 per year. This real-world heat recovery application validates the performance and robustness of our technology.
Over the last few years, we’ve expanded our product line and in addition to the CE-K500, have developed the CE-K250 (modular version), the CE-A250 (specifically designed for ammonia chillers), and the CE-K300 (high temperature output).
Our modern 12,500 ft2 design and manufacturing facility is in the Gloucester Industrial Park of Langley (Hwy. 1 @ 264th).
We are a small but well-funded start-up with proven technology and ambitious plans. We are expanding our high-performing team and invite you to join us, because when it comes to making this world a better place, green matters.
