Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical design process for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related building systems in alignment with project scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Manage and coordinate all MEP design activities for medium to large-scale projects, ensuring integration across disciplines.
  • Oversee and review design deliverables, ensuring compliance with the Ontario Building Code, National Fire Code, Ontario Electrical Code, and project specifications.
  • Provide technical leadership in BIM (Revit) design workflows, ensuring accurate and coordinated models across disciplines.
  • Interpret and review design drawings, technical specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Conduct inspections and assessments of in-service mechanical and electrical systems, including property condition assessments and reserve fund studies.
  • Prepare clear and concise technical reports, repair recommendations, and cost estimates for mechanical system upgrades or replacements.
  • Facilitate design and coordination meetings with clients, consultants, contractors, and internal teams.
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Balance multiple projects of varying size and complexity, delivering on time and to the highest standard.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and designers within the project team.
  • Perform other duties as required to support the Building Services and MEP team.
