Overview: We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer with an active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Alabama and a strong background in industrial mechanical and piping systems. This position is ideal for someone with 4+ years of experience, a passion for practical problem-solving, and the ability to guide projects from concept through construction.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field (ABET-accredited)
· Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Alabama (required); additional state licensure strongly preferred
· Minimum 4 years of mechanical engineering experience, including relevant design work in industrial or heavy facilities
· Strong knowledge of piping and HVAC systems
· Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and Microsoft Office Suite
· Strong communication skills and ability to work across disciplines
· Commitment to maintaining licensure in good standing, including continuing education requirements
· Familiarity with analysis tools (e.g., ETAP, SKM, or similar) is a plus

Responsibilities

· Perform mechanical engineering calculations and system sizing for piping (water, sanitary stream) and HVAC systems
· Review, approve, and seal engineering designs, drawings, and calculations in accordance with applicable codes and standards
· Provide technical direction and support to design staff for drawing production
· Develop procurement and construction specifications; assist with vendor evaluation
· Review project scopes and vendor documentation; help establish design criteria and standards
· Coordinate effectively with other engineering disciplines and vendors
· Conduct and document site visits, as required, to support design and construction
· Review engineering deliverables for quality, accuracy, and compliance with company and industry standards
· Support continual improvement of departmental design practices and standards
