ABOUT US

HOCS Projects is an industry leader in delivering innovative engineering solutions for the oil & gas and industrial sectors. We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the mechanical design process on projects from concept through commissioning.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Legally entitled to work in Canada.
  • B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or C.E.T. with equivalent experience.
  • Registration with APEGA (preferred) or ASET (eligibility in Alberta required).
  • 10–20+ years oil & gas experience, EPC background required.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME Section VIII, API 12D/12F, ASME B31.3/B31.1, CSA Z662, and related codes.
  • Experience with package engineering, vendor management, piping design, and mechanical equipment layout.
  • Preferred: OTSG, pressure vessel, rotating, and fired equipment experience.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the mechanical discipline on projects of varying size and complexity.
  • Oversee all mechanical design activities, from concept studies to detailed engineering.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and technologists.
  • Participate in P&ID and piping drawing development, plus HAZOP reviews.
  • Specify, evaluate, and select mechanical equipment in accordance with ASME, API, CSA, NACE, and other codes.
  • Prepare and review specifications, pressure vessel/piping calculations, and equipment data sheets.
  • Develop MR packages, perform technical bid evaluations, and prepare inspection scopes.
  • Coordinate with vendors and review drawings, designs, and mechanical details.
  • Provide on-site technical support and attend site/vendor shop visits as required.
