Job Description A major engineering group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical system design for large‑scale, high‑complexity projects. This role spans the full lifecycle — from blank‑sheet concepting to detailed analysis, modeling, documentation, installation, and commissioning. You’ll work on advanced mechanical systems involving motion, loads, stress/fatigue, hydraulics, pneumatics, and safety‑critical components. Many projects involve automated systems and attraction‑style mechanical designs, making this a highly technical and highly creative engineering role. What You’ll Do Lead mechanical system design from scratch — concept → modeling → analysis → documentation. Perform stress, fatigue, reliability, tolerance, and life‑expectancy calculations. Design mechanical components and assemblies using 3D modeling software (SolidWorks preferred). Conduct risk assessments, FMEA, and safety‑critical design reviews. Design redundant safety mitigations to increase system reliability. Integrate mechanical systems with automation, controls, and other engineering disciplines. Develop detailed documentation: descriptions of operation, design reports, test plans, maintenance plans. Design and troubleshoot pneumatic and hydraulic systems. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and client specifications. Manage vendor scope and verify safety, functionality, and contract requirements. Support installation, commissioning, and off‑shift startup activities. Work across entertainment, manufacturing, and automated system environments. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or directly related discipline). 10+ years of mechanical engineering experience. 3+ years designing mechanical systems from scratch or major redesigns (50%+ new design). Strong experience with 3D modeling (SolidWorks preferred). Knowledge of GD&T for large‑scale or high‑duty‑cycle systems. Experience with ASTM standards, safety engineering, or attractions industry preferred. Strong analytical skills: stress, fatigue, reliability, tolerance studies. Ability to work in multi‑discipline engineering teams. Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Office. Ability to travel up to 30% and work off‑shifts during commissioning. Comfortable working in office, industrial, and construction environments. Additional Information Physical Requirements Ability to climb, lift, push, pull, mount/dismount equipment. Clear speech, hearing, color perception, and manual dexterity. Frequent computer use and onsite presence. Compensation: USD100000 - USD120000 - yearly
