Our Baseplant Engineering team have an exciting opportunity if you are an experienced Mechanical Engineer! You will support and specialize in the day-to-day tasks of returning the equipment to operational capability. Your focus would be the short term and responding to equipment failures by providing field troubleshooting support and timely work scopes. You would also support the safe and reliable operation of equipment by completing integrity assessments and recommendations to the Production Unit.
Minimum Requirements:
- Minimum of Five years of engineering experience with fixed equipment such as pressure vessels, boilers, Piping systems.
- A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering Been registered or immediately eligible for registration as a Professional Engineer with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) providing technical advice on repair plans based on scope of work
- Field experience supporting Maintenance and Operations in an industrial environment
- Exceptional Collaboration with client groups
Key Accountabilities:
- Improve existing asset strategies by working closely with maintenance, planners, and operations on reliability issues and failure trends
- Provide front line support by troubleshooting and generating repair scopes of work to address emerging operational equipment issues
- Use risk review approaches, hazard and operability studies, management of change process, and other safety checks to maintain and improve area safety and reliability performance indicators
- Investigate and perform root-cause analysis of failures. Ensure equipment design changes align with the engineering management systems and are evaluated for the impact on equipment reliability; lead the engineering design of minor plant and equipment modifications
- Develop justifications, technical and efficient evaluations of major equipment changes and projects to be executed
- Ensures that the equipment in the PU are maintained in a cost-effective manner by preparing non-RIK repair scopes for both on site and off site work
- Work closely with maintenance execution and planning personnel to solicit feedback on repair scopes
- Completing fitness for service assessments and provide recommendations on repair, replace or return to service
- Responsible to manage change to address risks associated with required equipment changes
- Support Major Event/Turnarounds by Providing technical oversight of removal/installation of equipment or components, reviewing plans and schedules , completing found work repair scopes, guidance on any deviations required for SOW, prompt response to requests for information
- Support routine maintenance planning and Execution with front line first response
Location and Other Key Details:
- You will work out of our Base Plant site, located in Fort McMurray, Alberta
- Relocation will be provided to the successful candidate
- You will work a 40 hour work week, Monday to Friday
