ABOUT THE JOB

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our newly formed Transvascular Division in San Diego, CA, you will play a key role in creating novel technologies and products related to the delivery of brain computer interfaces. We are looking for candidates with experience in the mechanical design of medical devices, proficiency in CAD software and statistical analysis tools, and knowledge of materials who are excited to bring their skills to a mission-driven environment. You will get to work in a creative, fast-paced, highly ethical environment to develop first-of-a-kind products in the new field of brain computer interfaces.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor or masters degree in mechanical engineering
  • 5-10 years of experience in mechanical design and development of medical devices
  • Proficiency in CAD software and statistical analysis tools
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership and project management skills
Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Creating and overseeing the design of mechanical components, systems, and products, ensuring they meet performance, cost, and schedule requirements
  • Project Management: Leading and managing engineering projects, including defining tasks, allocating resources, and ensuring timely completion of internal and external projects
  • Technical Leadership: Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment
  • Analysis and Testing: Conducting simulations, analyses, and testing to evaluate and optimize the performance of mechanical systems
  • Cost and Schedule Management: Estimating project costs, developing timelines, and managing resources to meet budgetary and scheduling constraints
  • Collaboration: Working with cross-functional teams, including electrical, software, and manufacturing engineers, to integrate mechanical systems into larger products or systems
  • Documentation: Creating and maintaining detailed engineering documentation, including specifications, drawings, and test reports
