As a Senior Mechanical Engineer within our Property & Buildings M&E team, you will lead complex HVAC and plumbing designs, influence multidisciplinary project outcomes, and mentor the next generation of engineers—while working on some of the most technically advanced facilities in Canada. This role is based in Thornhill or Downtown Toronto. Your Impact Lead the mechanical design of HVAC, heating/cooling plants, plumbing, and fire protection systems for new and retrofit projects. Deliver high‑quality technical reports, drawings, and specifications aligned with codes and client standards. Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers and designers. Coordinate seamlessly with structural, electrical, architectural, and offshore design teams. Review and approve mechanical designs to ensure quality, constructability, and performance. Build trusted client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives. The Skills That Set You Apart Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of consulting experience in building systems design. Licensed Professional Engineer (PEO) in Ontario. Advanced expertise in HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems for complex facilities. Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering Data Centre or Science / Laboratory / Pharmaceutical projects in Canada. Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary mechanical design teams. Strong proficiency in Revit, IES, and HAP or equivalent mechanical design tools. Solid understanding of applicable codes, standards, and sustainable design principles (LEED an asset).
