Salary: £34,655 per annum (plus ILW if applicable)
Are you passionate about the work of the British Red Cross? We have an exciting opportunity to join our media team as a Senior Media Officer (International), working to secure impactful media coverage for our work overseas.
The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We mobilise human kindness to support people at the most vulnerable moments of their lives.
As a Senior Media Officer (International), you will be part of a busy press office working in the news team, under the direction of the International Media Manager. You will be delivering time sensitive media work on some of the biggest stories of our time, ranging from the global refugee crisis, climate-related disasters, protracted conflict, and chronic hunger.
If you are a talented and committed media professional who can communicate quickly and effectively when a crisis strikes, we would very much like to hear from you. Join us and become part of our global humanitarian movement.
Could this role be for you?

To succeed as our Senior Media Officer, you should have:

  • Experience of planning and managing complex media campaigns, with a nuanced understanding of how media fits into strategic, integrated, communications plans.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to meet deadlines. Often in situations that are fast-changing, where content and approach needs to adapt at short notice.
  • Flexibility to work on an out of hours rota.
  • Experience of how to positively portray people with lived experience and ensuring they hold an empowered role in the storytelling process.
