Introduction: The Outreach and Research Programme of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health has ten community-based field sites across Pakistan (including four in Karachi) and focuses on research for betterment of women and child health. The Department has a Nutritional Research Laboratory as well as an Infectious Disease Research Laboratory that cater to the needs of its research projects. It has well-acclaimed work to its credit both at the national and international level. Responsibilities: Conduct clinics for newborns, under five and adolescents at the AKU Paediatrics Karachi Field Sites. Enable research participation enrollment and follow up. Lead IMCI and other clinical and/or research trainings, support SOP development, ensure quality control and maintain good working relationship with staff, community, collaborators, and stake holders. Be actively engaged in teaching and assessment of IMCI guidelines to medical students rotating at the field site. Be a champion for community patients and their families in an empathetic and respectful way. Specific responsibilities include to: ensure proper identification and registration of patients at triage supervise and monitor timely visits of participants’ for care and follow ups monitor and report protocol deviations where needed develop SoPs and manual of operation for clinical care provide support and/or training to the research study staff as per the protocols and guidelines of study teaching and assessment of undergraduate medical students ensure the completeness, proper filings, and archiving of the collected data (clinical or research) develop and implement QA QC plan with documentation and reporting any other responsibility assigned by the Supervisor. managing available resources to ensure uninterrupted clinical care, coordinating care and referrals, and enabling a research culture and integrity. Requirements: You should have: MBBS degree with MCPS / FCPS in Paediatrics preferably with additional certification and knowledge of Good Clinical Practices at least 2 years of experience, preferably in field/Community/Paediatrics sound clinical skills and knowledge of care of children in low-income communities excellent interpersonal communication skills ability to work in a team integrity and strong research ethics excellent written and verbal communication skills in English strong computer skills.
