PERMANENT FULL-TIME  POSITION IN NORTH VANCOUVER(Onsite) CLOSES:  Open Until Filled BE PART OF SOMETHING MEANINGFUL!  Join the Ts’ixwts’ixwnítway Member Services Department as a Senior Membership Officer. This role is central to supporting Squamish Nation members by ensuring the accurate and timely distribution of per-capita and trust payments, maintaining membership records, and providing culturally safe, respectful service to our community. As the Senior Membership Officer, you will serve as a trusted point of contact for distribution and membership-related inquiries, oversee key processes such as court order compliance, account setup for children and youth, and Indian Registration Administration when required. Your work will contribute to the financial stability and wellbeing of our members, while upholding Squamish Nation policies, values, and traditions. WHAT YOU’LL DO * Act as the primary point of contact for all distribution and membership-related requests. * Review court documents and custody orders to ensure compliance with payment directions. * Coordinate and disperse per-capita payments (three times annually) and Trust payments (once annually). * Set up and manage trust accounts for minor children and children-in-care. * Update and maintain accurate records of member addresses and banking details. * Issue stop-payments for lost or stolen cheques and manage re-issuance. * Support the Membership Services team by acting as Indian Registration Administrator (IRA) as needed. * Safeguard and manage cheque storage for pick-up, mail-out, or archiving. * Meet regularly with supervisors and contribute actively to team meetings. * Collaborate across Member Services to support emergency, outreach, and community programs. * Perform additional duties as required to support departmental goals. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR * Certificate in Native Public Administration, Indigenous Government, or a related field. * Experience in distribution payments, database management, or customer service. * Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); JD Edwards experience an asset. * Knowledge of Squamish Nation history, culture, and values; experience working in First Nations environments preferred. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex policies clearly. * Organized, resourceful, and able to manage multiple priorities under pressure. * Emotional intelligence, patience, and integrity when handling sensitive information. * Cultural humility and respect for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh values, sovereignty, and self-determination.
