ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualification: Post graduate qualification in a clinical health field, such as Social Work and Occupational Therapy or completion of a recognised Master’s or Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology
  • Registration: Current Registration: Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/ Psychologist/ Occupational Therapist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or eligibility to be a member of the AASW as a Social Worker
Responsibilities

The Perinatal and Infant Mental Health Clinician (PIMHC) plays a vital role in supporting women and families within WSLHD, addressing severe mental health challenges during the perinatal period. The position combines clinical care, leadership, research, education, and service planning.

  • Provides specialist clinical care for women and infants up to 24 months with severe mental health challenges.
  • Leads assessment and management of complex perinatal cases, enhancing clinical processes and practices.
  • Engages in research to advance perinatal mental health and shares findings through publications and presentations.
  • Designs and delivers specialised education programs to build capacity across WSLHD services.
  • Contributes to strategic planning, shaping service models for comprehensive family support.
