Buckinghamshire Children and Young Person’s Mental Health team are looking for a Senior Mental Health Practitioner to join OSCA (Outreach Service for Children and Adolescent).
The OSCA (Outreach Service for Children and Adolescent) is a specialised element within the Buckinghamshire CAMHS service. The Buckinghamshire CAMHS service is based on the iThrive model, and includes a number of pathways delivering the full range of assessments and interventions to young people with mental health needs.
Our service has 3 main elements (DBT, Crisis & Intensive Home Treatment (IHTT) and Outreach) the post holder will be expected to work within the Intensive Home Treatment Team.
The IHTT function is provided across Buckinghamshire, as part of the integrated community-based CAMH Service, offering care to children and young people up to 18 years, including those with Learning Disabilities.

THERE ARE THREE CORE COMPONENTS TO THE CRISIS INTERVENTION:

  1. Assessment
  2. Intensive Home Treatment
  3. Signposting and guidance
    You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team that offers a whole systems approach to the short and long term management of psychological disturbances and mental illness that works across the whole CAMHS service with the OSCA team picking up the highest levels of need. This includes young people whose mental health difficulties require multiple contacts per day based on DBT and MBT skills.
    Applicants must have a full valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work. Adjustments can be considered in line with the Equality Act 2010 where required.
