DEMO SA is one of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers in Greece, experiencing rapid growth and continuous development. As our operations expand, we are seeking a Senior MEP Design Engineer to join our team and help support our ongoing progress. The Senior MEP Design Engineer oversees the entire design process for all MEP systems at DEMO SA's industrial and pharmaceutical sites, including production areas, cleanrooms, utilities, warehouses, laboratories, and offices. This role leads multidisciplinary design efforts, reviews external MEP designs, ensures compliance with GMP and industry regulations, and collaborates with internal teams, consultants, and construction partners to uphold technical standards throughout each project stage. Responsibilities 1. MEP System Design & Development Design Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems for new facilities, expansions, and infrastructure upgrades. Prepare and validate detailed engineering designs, drawings, calculations, and specifications. Ensure designs comply with GMP requirements, pharmaceutical engineering standards, Greek building codes, and EU regulations. Propose improvements to optimize system performance and sustainability. 2. Review & Coordination of Outsourced Designs Review and validate MEP designs prepared by external consultants or outsourced partners to ensure compliance with DEMO SA standards, project requirements, and regulatory guidelines. Provide technical feedback and direction to outsourced design teams, ensuring deliverables are accurate, complete, and coordinated with all disciplines. Ensure seamless integration of outsourced designs into internal project plans and construction activities. 3. Technical Leadership & Team Coordination Lead multidiscipline coordination of MEP systems with Civil, Architectural, Automation, Process, and Utilities teams. Mentor and guide junior engineers and design staff, promoting best practices and technical excellence. Review and approve technical documents, submittals, and drawings prepared by internal and external teams. 4. Project Oversight & Collaboration Collaborate with construction teams to ensure accurate implementation of design intent on site. Assist in resolving technical issues during construction and startup phases. 5. Vendor & Equipment Management Evaluate vendor proposals, technical offers, and equipment specifications. 6. Quality, Compliance & Documentation Ensure all designs meet DEMO SA’s internal engineering standards and quality assurance protocols. Prepare and maintain documentation required for regulatory approvals and audits. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline. Minimum 5–7 years of experience in MEP design, preferably within industrial or pharmaceutical environments. Strong knowledge of HVAC, cleanroom design, industrial utilities (steam, compressed air, chilled water, HVAC systems, etc.), low and medium voltage electrical systems, and fire protection systems. Excellent command of 4M, AutoCAD, and relevant engineering calculation software (knowledge of BIM/Revit will be considered a plus). Experience with GMP requirements. Strong analytical skills and ability to produce technically sound engineering solutions. Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills. Fluency in English (written and spoken).
