JOB PURPOSE Provide all necessary assistance and commercial support to the Cost Management team ensuring compliance with contractual requirements. Liaise with customer representatives and other third parties on commercial issues including agreement of variations, claims and any additional payments. Will be responsible for the review and preparation of interim payments, project variations and other financial matters. QUALIFICATION / EXPERIENCE Recognised Degree in Engineering or equivalent. Ideally qualified to MSc degree level with relevant academic or with post academic professional qualifications to carry out the role. Generally, a minimum of 4-8 years of professional experience. GENERAL EXPECTANCY Extensive experience and high-level competencies in specialised areas. Contributes valuable insights to projects. RESPONSIBILITIES Providing accurate cost advice and reporting to our clients. Delivering projects, commissions and professional assignments. Assuming a leading role in setting objectives and priorities, working as a proactive team player. Maintaining effective communication to ensure all information is available for the successful completion of projects, liaising with other managers to ensure efficient financial control. Undertaking cost management services with limited supervision. Delivering all work outputs in an accurate and timely manner. Providing support to the team leader/service leaders in the cost management of projects. Ensure effective interaction between the cost management team and the operational site teams. Carry out cost management including forecasting. Prepare cost estimates of project design stages. Monitor contracts final cost estimates. Review, negotiate and prepare claim settlements. Prepare Final Account with all supporting documentation. Preparing tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities with the architect and/or the client. Proficient in Microsoft office and expert excel skills. Measurement and CostX superuser. Strong understanding of Construction costs in both UAE and KSA. Provide expert technical advice in MEP and infrastructure construction costs. Project Management / Operational Delivery - Proven expertise in discipline with a track record of numerous projects ($150k) successfully delivered independently with high level of Client feedback. Independently manage complex projects and resolve complex project issues. They lead efforts to streamline cross-functional processes and drive efficiency across the organisation. Leadership / Team Management Experience - Ability to independently project manage delivery and guide junior team members within the project team or mentoring junior team members / graduates. Provide guidance and leadership to more junior team members. Commercial Acumen / Business Development - Proficiency in creating and managing project budgets, tracking expenses, and ensuring cost control. Managing relationships with project vendors, negotiating contracts, and ensuring cost-effective procurement. Client oriented and contributes to commercial success of the division. Problem Solving / Decision Making - Generate viable options for addressing problems. Consider the long-term implications of each option.
