Job Title: Senior MES Engineer
Job Type: 23-month Contract
Salary: €60-€72 per hour
Location: Westport

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Third-Level qualification in a relevant manufacturing, engineering, or business-related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in MES authoring, with a proven track record of leadership or technical lead roles in multiple implementation projects.
  • Strong proficiency with MES applications, configuration rules, and interfacing (preferably POMSnet).
  • Experience in batch processing operations within an FDA/HPRA-regulated environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of cGMP and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.
  • Solid understanding of IT systems relevant to MES.
  • SAP knowledge/experience in MM, PP, and IM modules is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to maintain high attention to detail and ensure compliance with procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain and author MES recipes and worksheets for the Westport site.
  • Provide technical leadership and troubleshooting for MES Engineers, acting as the escalation point for complex issues or recipe design challenges.
  • Design, create, and modify MES recipes, worksheets, and material specs, including phase transition logic.
  • Develop and execute test protocols, validation procedures, risk assessments, and ensure robust system documentation.
  • Align cleaning, equipment, and product procedures with MES processes.
  • Deliver training for site personnel, manage system access, and keep teams updated on MES changes.
  • Participate in MES knowledge exchanges and MES Governance meetings to share best practices.
  • Collaborate with the Global MES team to identify and implement system improvements.
  • Support New Product Introduction (NPI) projects, ensuring MES system and hardware requirements are addressed.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for safety, quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Document all activities in line with cGMP requirements.
  • Comply with and promote EHS (Environmental, Health, and Safety) standards.
