Description

Our client is a leader in the recovery and re-manufacturing of primary resources, operating in Australia and South-East Asia, extracting maximum value from materials that would otherwise end up in landfill.

The company stands out nationally because of its core values – particularly its dedication to innovation, its responsiveness in the market, and its unwavering commitment to sustainability. Their continued investment in advanced plant and equipment and utilising cutting-edge technologies set them apart.

We are in search for an experienced production or manufacturing professional to take on the role of Operations Manager, a key leadership position located either at our client’s main manufacturing facility in East Rockingham, responsible for all aspects of site operations. This is a hands-on position responsible for its safety culture, increasing productivity and product quality.

Reporting to the General Manager Operations, this role is accountable for building a safety‑first and a high‑performance culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive a culture of safety through leadership, role modelling and compliance to safety systems.
  • Operational business improvement, full P&L responsibility, developing and achieving budgetary, forecasting, cost control and production targets (KPI metrics).
  • Ensure maximum output is achieved without compromising safety and product quality.
  • Ensure preventative maintenance and repairs of all plant and equipment to optimise uptime.
  • Oversee production scheduling to minimise overtime and optimise productivity against OEM and benchmarking.
  • Review production processes and make recommendations and implement new processes to improve quality, efficiency, productivity and profitability of operations.
  • Value people, respect the knowledge base within the operations, understand the performance gaps and work with the people.
  • Actively lead daily, weekly and monthly audits as required.
  • Training and development of all staff to ensure standard of competencies to underpin safety and production performance.
  • Manage the administrative function ensuring production and management reporting requirements are met.

About You:

  • Track record in production or manufacturing management within a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Analytical, data driven and proven track record in the engagement and ownership of business improvement.
  • Proven track record in lean manufacturing.
  • Know what ‘good’ looks like, benchmark and standardise.
  • Experienced in budgeting, budget management, forecasting, cost control and P&L.
  • Proven performance across safety.
  • Tertiary qualifications will be viewed as preferably but not a prerequisite.

This is a key role within a progressive circular economy group with a national footprint and a business philosophy in building scale across the market and becoming the lowest cost to make through innovation and shop floor culture - a significant opportunity for career growth.

Discussions shall be treated with the strictest confidentiality.

If your leadership, manufacturing and safety track record is in sync with our client’s needs, then apply online OR call Oscar Calleja on 0409 098 *** for a strictly confidential telephone discussion.
