We do not accept unsolicited resumes from third-party recruiters. Job Description RESPEC seeks an experienced Senior Mining Engineer for our Reno, NV location. The responsibilities for this position include evaluation of resource and reserve models, complete mine pit or stope optimizations, creating open pit or underground designs, waste dump design, haul road design, and advising clients on project development. Additional responsibilities include estimating equipment and personnel requirements, estimating capital and operating costs for projects, project economic evaluation, preparing technical reports, business development and project management. The successful candidate will work with junior engineering staff to manage mining-related projects. Domestic and international travel may be required for visits to client mine sites as well as for client and corporate meetings. Qualifications Required: Bachelor's or master’s degree in mining, geological or civil engineering A minimum of 10 years of experience in mining engineering including mine planning and resource optimization with at least 2 years of experience in operations Registered professional engineer in the US or Canada or ability to obtain upon hire Qualified Person (QP) under SEC S-K 1300 or NI 43-101 reporting standards Experience in mine planning software (e.g., Surpac, Vulcan, Minesched, Deswik, Carlson and GIS) Experience in pit optimization software Production planning and scheduling experience required (preference to Deswik or MineSched) Experience writing and producing technical reports suitable for submission under SEC S-K 1300, NI 43-101 or JORC guidelines Excellent interpersonal and effective oral and written communication skills Must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record; position requires operating a company or personal vehicle during work hours for business-related travel Preferred: Underground and open pit experience Proficient in programming skills (e.g. TCL, Lisp, Visual Basic, and other programming languages) Project management experience Additional Information Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. The salary range for this position is $120k-$150k. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe-benefits package.
