Description

A Financial Reporting Executive is a senior role within an organization that focuses on overseeing the preparation, analysis, and communication of financial reports. This position typically involves managing the company’s financial reporting processes, ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations, and presenting key financial data to stakeholders such as senior management, investors, auditors, and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Reporting:
  • Oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss Statement, Cash Flow).
  • Ensure that financial reports are accurate, complete, and comply with relevant accounting standards (such as IFRS, GAAP).
  • Manage the consolidation process for multi-entity organizations.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Reporting:
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards (e.g., SOX, tax laws, and financial reporting requirements).
  • Stay updated on regulatory changes and ensure timely implementation.
  • Coordinate external audits and support the preparation of tax filings.
  • Internal Controls:
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure financial data accuracy and prevent fraud.
  • Work with internal audit teams to assess and improve financial processes.
  • Financial Analysis:
  • Analyze financial results and provide insights into financial performance.
  • Present findings to senior management to assist in strategic decision-making.
  • Work with other departments (e.g., operations, sales, HR) to understand financial variances.
  • Team Management:
  • Lead and develop a team of financial analysts and accountants.
  • Ensure that deadlines for financial reporting are met and that the reporting team has the resources needed.
  • Strategic Planning Support:
  • Support the budgeting and forecasting process.
  • Provide financial data and analysis to assist in long-term planning and capital management.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency with financial reporting software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
  • Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage a team and collaborate cross-functionally.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field (a Master’s degree or MBA may be preferred).
  • Professional certifications such as ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants), or CMA/CCA (Certified Management Accountant) can be beneficial.
  • Several years of experience in financial reporting or accounting, often with experience in a managerial or leadership role.
