Description
Provide subject matter expertise in missile interceptor and target system engineering, including propulsion, structures, and flight vehicle subsystems. Conduct engineering analyses and technical assessments for production, quality, and mission assurance activities. Support obsolescence redesign, capability upgrades, and engineering change evaluations for missile components. Perform technical oversight of supplier manufacturing and production operations, including on-site audits of key processes. Support failure review boards, proposal evaluations, and SBIR technology developments for next-generation missile systems. Conduct design and test assessments for payloads, re-entry vehicles, and launch vehicle integration in support of MDA Targets & Countermeasures. Coordinate engineering efforts across contractors, government agencies, and test ranges to support flight test operations. Provide technical input for acquisition planning, requirements development, and risk assessments. Prepare and deliver technical reports, design reviews, and briefings to MDA leadership and stakeholders. BA/BS Degree with 20+ years of relevant experience, or Master's in STEM with 12+ years. Extensive background in missile system development, test and evaluation, and targets/countermeasures. Direct experience supporting Missile Defense Agency (MDA) programs such as THAAD or related efforts. Strong understanding of missile propulsion, structures, and flight dynamics. Proven ability to perform engineering analysis, design review, and technical oversight. Experience interfacing with suppliers and conducting production audits or quality assessments. Excellent communication and technical writing skills. Active Secret clearance. Experience with hypersonic system development or next-generation interceptor technologies. Familiarity with SBIR program management or technology transition processes. Background in infrared (IR) or radar signature characterization for missile systems. Prior military or DoD flight test experience.
