Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior Mission Systems Architect to support an advanced air platform program focused on achieving and sustaining national air dominance. As part of MTSI’s commitment to delivering innovative engineering services and technology solutions, this role will play a critical part in shaping mission systems architectures, enabling lab-based integration, and establishing an enterprise mission systems marketplace to support rapid, open, and interoperable capability delivery across platforms and weapons. The successful candidate will provide senior-level systems engineering expertise focused on lab integration, architecture compliance testing, and implementation of open, data-centric mission systems architectures in highly contested environments. Responsibilities Serve as a technical lead for mission systems architecture with a focus on lab integration, architecture compliance testing, and delivery of capabilities through an enterprise mission systems marketplace Provide technical management and coordination of Government and industry consortiums supporting the development, maturation, and adoption of Government Reference Architectures (GRAs) Support platform and weapon program offices with integration and implementation of mission systems architectures Execute within Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) supporting core platform and weapon GRAs and interfaces, including open mission systems and weapon open systems architectures Collaborate directly with programs of record to support architecture implementation, compliance testing, and delivery of mission systems products to the marketplace Support integration and delivery of mission systems hardware and software capabilities across air vehicles, weapons, sensors, autonomy, PNT, mission planning, mission data generation, software services, command and control, communications, and maintenance systems Manage and support lab infrastructure used for mission systems integration, test, and compliance activities Lead development of strategic- and tactical-level integration and test plans and support execution of integration and test events Lead and support Government and industry teams through technical planning, design reviews, test reviews, and technical assessments Develop and deliver technical briefings to senior technical and leadership audiences Support mission capability development across all phases of acquisition, including Technology Maturation, Engineering and Manufacturing Development (EMD), Production, and Test Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical discipline Minimum of 5 years supporting mission systems architecture, systems integration, lab integration, or open architecture implementation within complex, mission-critical environments Experience supporting mission systems integration and architecture compliance in lab or test environments Required familiarity with modern software development practices, agile toolchains, and DevSecOps pipelines, including GitLab and the Atlassian Suite Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience briefing technical content to senior technical and leadership audiences Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic, “tip of the spear” environment, with a strong willingness to learn and solve complex mission problems Desired Experience integrating Government Reference Architectures (GRAs) into operational weapon or mission systems Familiarity with open mission systems, weapon open systems architectures, and data-centric system designs Experience supporting platform and weapon systems across air, ISR, or armament domains Familiarity with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines in secure development environments Clearance and Travel Requirements: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility This position supports a Special Access Program (SAP) Situational telework only TDY travel approximately 20 percent (about one trip per month) #LI-ZS1 #ONSITE #Dragons #Rudy #YellowHammer
