Description

We are looking for a Senior Mobile Developer with strong expertise in Mobile SDK development , in-depth knowledge of the Android platform (including Gradle and Android Studio ), strong proficiency in Kotlin, and a proven track record in integrating third-party libraries and SDKs. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and improving our in-app Android SDK for eCommerce platforms.
This position demands expertise in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose , a solid grasp of Android Jetpack components , and hands-on experience with API integrations and framework lifecycle management . While native Android development remains the core focus, familiarity with React Native or Flutter (or a willingness to learn) is beneficial. You will also play a crucial role in SDK security and enhancing the developer experience (DX) .

TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of experience in Android development or 2+ years of experience using Kotlin , with a solid understanding of the development tools in Android
  • Strong experience in J etpack Compose and modern Android UI development .
  • Proficiency in Android Jetpack components (ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, WorkManager, etc.).
  • Experience integrating RESTful APIs and managing third-party SDK/framework lifecycles .
  • Some experience (or willingness to learn) with React Native or Flutter for SDK adoption in cross-platform environments.
  • Strong knowledge of Git (branching strategies, pull requests, conflict resolution, etc.).
  • Understanding of the Android app publishing process (app signing, release management, Play Store distribution).
  • Hands-on experience with Gradle for dependency management and automated build processes.

NICE TO HAVE (BONUS SKILLS)

  • Experience with automated testing (Unit, UI, and Integration tests).
  • Understanding of Android security best practices.
  • Previous experience publishing an open-source library or contributing to public repositories .
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions or Jenkins.
  • Experience working in mobile SDK, EMV 3D Secure, or mobile wallets.

Responsibilities
  • Implementing features to our Android SDK in collaboration with the team for consistent and aligned design/architecture between our iOS and Android SDKs.
  • Ensure security, performance, and scalability in SDK implementation.
  • Optimize Gradle configurations for dependency management, build automation, and streamlined releases.
  • Implement Jetpack Compose UI components and integrate Android Jetpack libraries (ViewModel, LiveData, Navigation, WorkManager).
  • Manage API integrations and third-party SDK lifecycles to ensure smooth interoperability.
  • Work on cross-platform SDK support for React Native and Flutter (if applicable).
  • Provide comprehensive SDK documentation , sample apps, and developer guides.
  • Collaborate with product managers and merchant integration engineers to align SDK capabilities with business needs.
  • Stay ahead of Android development trends, security updates, and regulatory changes in payments.
