Mō te tūranga | About the role Westpac Mobile is continuing its journey to modernise our mobile apps and deliver intuitive, high quality customer experiences. As a Senior Mobile Engineer Android, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering modern mobile solutions that support everyday banking for our customers. You will work closely with product managers, designers and engineers to design, build and release high quality mobile features. You will take ownership across the full development lifecycle and contribute to a culture focused on collaboration, quality and continuous improvement. Ko tō mahi | What you will do Design, build and deliver Android mobile features aligned to the digital roadmap. Work across the full development lifecycle from design through to release. Collaborate with product, design and engineering teams on technical solutions. Mentor and support other engineers to grow capability across the team. Write clean, maintainable and testable code aligned to engineering best practice. Contribute to modernisation through improved development, quality and DevOps practices. Partner with Quality Engineering to support testing, stability and automation initiatives. Nā tāu rourou | What you will bring Significant experience in mobile application development, ideally 7 years or more. Strong Android development experience using Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. Experience building complex systems in a collaborative team environment. Understanding of mobile architecture patterns and quality engineering standards. Exposure to mobile automation frameworks and testing practices. Experience with Objective C or Java is beneficial. Familiarity with mobile DevOps tools such as Fastlane, Gradle or Jenkins is beneficial. Exposure to cloud based CI CD platforms is beneficial. Understanding of Material Design guidelines and accessibility principles. Strong communication skills, a collaborative mindset and customer focused approach.
