JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a senior mold designer for “Advanced engineering”. They will be responsible for part feasibility. Part feasibilities are done early on in part development to analyze if the part is moldable and cost affective to manufacture. Depending on workload, the candidate will also do mold designs.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 5 years of mold design experience
  -Diploma for a CAD related program or working towards a diploma is an asset
  -CAD experience with any of the following: Visi, Unigraphics or Catia is an asset
  -Strong surfacing skills
  -Familiar with mold making concepts and mold assemblies
  -Familiar with CNC machining processes
  -Basic math skills along with strong English and grammar skills are required
  -Familiar with Microsoft Office

RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

-Review preliminary part model for tooling concessions and submit proposals for improvements.
-Assist estimating with part layouts and mechanism call outs.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS:

-Fully design molds to meet customer standards & requirements.
-Complete online 3D mold design reviews with customers.
-To prepare 2D/3D details for an array of components based on the fully designed mold.
-Other duties and special projects as well.
