The company helps clients with home loans, refinancing, investment lending, commercial/business loans, asset/equipment finance, and SMSF (self-managed super fund) lending. They focus on providing expert, personalised service and fast, end‐to‐end support through a team with deep experience in Australian banking and lending. About the role We are looking a highly experienced Senior Mortgage Broker Assistant to join the growing offshore team. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing financials, assessing client eligibility, managing loan submissions, and ensuring applications progress smoothly from start to finish. You will be working closely with the Head of Retail Operations, supporting the team by providing accurate assessments, strong attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving. Responsibilities: Review and interpret financial documents including tax returns, payslips, P&L statements, balance sheets, and trust structures. Conduct servicing calculations and prepare accurate templates for pricing and policy checks. Assist with lender research, policy interpretation, and preliminary assessments. Support brokers by preparing loan applications through systems such as Finsure, Infinity, and ApplyOnline. Track applications through the pipeline, including ordering valuations, lodging pricing requests, and chasing approvals. Communicate with clients to request supporting documents and follow up on outstanding information. Maintain accurate diary notes and file documentation in shared systems. Participate in daily and weekly team meetings to align on priorities and workflow. Provide quality checks on applications, identifying errors or inconsistencies before submission. Proactively contribute ideas to improve processes, workflows, and overall efficiency. Act as a potential future team leader, supporting the scaling of the offshore team. Requirements Minimum 5 years’ experience in mortgage broking, loan processing, or financial analysis. Strong ability to read and interpret complex financials, including self-employed income, trusts, and group structures. Proficiency with Finsure, Infinity, ApplyOnline, and other mortgage broking processes, lender portals, and aggregator platforms. Proven experience with loan servicing calculators, broker portals, and submission platforms. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to identify errors and provide corrective feedback. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions at once. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, changing environment where no two days are the same. Proactive, analytical thinker who understands transactions beyond “tick-the-box” tasks. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise confidently with brokers, clients, and lenders. Experience in commercial and residential applications is highly regarded.
