The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior MS SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining SQL Server database environments to ensure optimal performance, availability, and security. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support mission-critical applications and guide best practices for data management. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain SQL Server database systems across all environments. Perform performance tuning, query optimization, indexing strategies, and troubleshooting of database-related issues. Design & oversee high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions, including Always On, clustering, and replication. Manage database capacity planning, storage optimization, and resource monitoring. Develop and enforce policies and procedures for data security, backup, retention, and integrity. Support database deployments, schema changes, and release automation in collaboration with development teams. Analyze and tune SSIS/SSRS/SSAS components (as applicable). Maintain documentation for architecture, standards, and processes. Provide on-call support rotation for critical systems. Mentor junior DBAs and contribute to establishing technical best practices. Required Qualifications BA/BSc in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related field. 7+ years of professional experience as an MS SQL DBA. Deep expertise in SQL Server versions 2016–2025. Experience with cloud-based SQL environments (Azure SQL, Managed Instances, AWS RDS SQL Server). Strong proficiency in T-SQL development, performance tuning, and query plan analysis. Proven experience with HA/DR solutions and enterprise-scale database environments. Solid understanding of Windows Server administration, networking basics, and storage concepts. Experience with PowerShell scripting for automation and maintenance tasks. Strong analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
