SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience working with and maintaining the company’s critical path.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PLM, and fit workbooks.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Proactive attitude and ability to work in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
  • Working knowledge of international compliance and standards.
  • Understanding of sustainable fabric and fibers, certification, and labeling.
  • Knowledge of product and labeling compliance in the global marketplace.
  • Experience measuring models, including plus size.
  • Experience conducting AQL and quality checks and reviewing AQL reports.
  • Experience working with an international supply base.
  • Desirable but Not Mandatory:
    Experience processing intimate garments; plus size and fuller bust experience is ideal.

Responsibilities:

ROLE OVERVIEW:

We are seeking an innovative Senior Garment Technologist on behalf of our client to join their dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on pushing boundaries and thinking outside the box. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable in grade fitting and confident in accurately amending graded specifications based on fitting data, with a passion for fit and sizing. Their expertise will ensure garments meet the highest quality standards and lead in fit, comfort, and performance for a diverse community.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Product Range: Work across various product categories, including jersey dresses, tops, bottoms, leggings, knitwear, lingerie, swimwear, and nightwear. May also handle woven products such as denim and tailoring, depending on capabilities.
Fit Sessions: Drive fit sessions focusing on garment comfort and functionality. Accurately record fit comments, annotate fit photos for clarity, and ensure seamless communication with suppliers. All fit comments are to be processed on the PLM system; confidence in using such systems is essential.
Quality Assurance: Measure and quality-check products prior to fittings. Approve AQL reports with the supply base and conduct ad hoc quality checks when necessary.
Sample Approval: Work on the approval of shipment samples for your product categories, ensuring the maintenance of agreed fit and quality levels against sealed Pre-Production samples.
Technical Specifications: Create initial specifications for new products, working alongside the Product Development team to ensure correct fabric and trims are selected for desired specifications.
Model Measurement: Conduct model measurements at the start of each fit session to ensure fit comments align with sizing expectations.
Lab Testing: Possess senior-level experience in reading lab test reports and problem-solving issues as they arise. Approve test reports prior to bulk cutting and care labels.
Process Development: Support the creation and maintenance of internal processes and documents, including manuals, grading, and process documents.
Critical Path Management: Liaise with the Product Development team to ensure the technical critical path is running on time. Maintain clear communication with the supplier base via email and video conferencing. Keep the critical path up to date with technical milestones.
