TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE

You have knowledge of:

  • negotiation processes and strategies, contractual agreement development and management, and accountability frameworks and structures
  • the provincial health care system and delivery, as well as the role, governance and relationships between decision-making groups
  • business and financial best practices, including financial analysis, performance measurement, accountability and reporting, and risk management
  • You can interpret legislation and related ministry policies impacting negotiation agreements

RESEARCH, PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND LEADERSHIP SKILLS

  • You have research and project management techniques to lead, contribute and undertake all facets of concurrent projects, negotiation teams, and committees
  • You can provide guidance, training and advice to negotiations analysts

ANALYTICAL AND PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS

You can:

  • identify issues affecting negotiation processes, determine impacts and develop options/solutions
  • monitor and evaluate a number of negotiations and interpret impacts to ensure consistency and unwarranted conflict between negotiating parties
  • develop appropriate evaluation criteria, accountability and reporting measures
  • formulate detailed, innovative strategies and solutions to issues in a timely manner
  • conduct comprehensive analysis, synthesis and reporting of research
  • determine/provide advice on regulatory/contract dependencies and resulting legal implications for senior management review

COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT SKILLS

You have:

  • oral and written communication skills to prepare and present research analyses, briefing materials and correspondence and to share information with stakeholders using standard computer applications
  • partnership building and relationship management skills to initiate partnership arrangements, and to promote collaboration and cooperation among parties
  • advisory skills to provide advice to other branches/divisions, with respect to best negotiation practices
  • presentation and persuasion skills to explain analysis to negotiation teams
