SR NETWORK ENGINEER

Carol Stream - IL
We are seeking a talented Sr Network Engineer to join our team to help support and facilitate our growth.
Our Sr Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting all network systems within a 24/7 production environment. This role ensures high availability and security across LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud networks while supporting infrastructure critical that support our print operations and digital delivery systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design, configure, and manage enterprise network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and SD-WAN.
  • Monitor and optimize network performance, identifying, and resolving bottlenecks.
  • Ensure network security by implementing firewalls, IPS/IDS, access control, and encryption technologies.
  • Maintain and manage network hardware such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and wireless controller.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues impacting production SLAs and operational uptime.
  • Lead network projects, including migrations, expansions, and integrations.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting processes.

    Required Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

  • 5+ years of experience in network engineering, administration, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of modern networking protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, TCP/IP, VLANs, MPLS, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto, Sonicwall, or equivalent network hardware.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong understanding of cloud native networking concepts and technologies (AWS, Google Cloud, Azure)
  • Knowledge of IT security best practices and compliance standards relevant to the print/mail industry.
  • Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Preferred Skills
  • Preferred certifications: Network +, CCNA, CCIE, Security +
  • Experience supporting network infrastructure in production environments.
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN, VoIP, cloud networking (AWS, Azure), or hybrid mail platforms.

Salary Range: $125,000 - $135,000
