Description:

Playground is an internationally renowned gaming destination located a short 15-minute drive south of downtown Montreal, within the Mohawk territory of Kahnawake. We are currently expanding, unveiling new gaming floors, a luxurious hotel, and specialized dining options.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Senior Network Administrator will contribute to short and long-term planning, establish and review standards and best practices from design to implementation. He/she will be part of a collaborative team but also work individually on business and operations projects, seeing them through to completion. The Senior Network Administrator will be expected to impart technical recommendations where needed and to contribute to the team’s overall technical competency. The Senior Network Administrator will be exposed to different networks, servers, and technologies on a daily basis.
The Senior Network Administrator will have avid experience with Microsoft windows configuration and Linux-based operating systems, installation, maintenance, support and troubleshooting of TCP/IP networks supporting telephones, computers, relational database management systems and other systems; system development, complex project management, client/server technology and Internet/intranets.
Experience and knowledge of the following protocols: OSPF, DNS, DHCP, SSH, HTTP, SMTP, SSL
Experience with: Proxmox, Pfsense, VMware ESXi, OpenVPN, VLAN, Wins server AD/DHCP/DNS, BIND, ISC-DHCP, SAMBA, DELL switches, Docker, Amazon AWS, Digital Ocean, VNC, Linux (Debian, Ubuntu Centos), MySQL, MSSQL server, Bash scripting
Asset if knowledgeable in the following: Ansible AWX, Gitlab, Docker Swarm, Portainer, Traefik, LibreNMS, NAS(QNAP), SAN

REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of five years of experience in a similar position.
  • Expertise in Linux technologies, including Ubuntu, Debian, Centos.
  • Strong experience with multisite LAN and WAN networks,routing protocols, VPNs, and firewalls.
  • Proficiency in automation technologies such as Ansible
  • Proficiency in virtualization technologies such as Proxmox and VMware.
  • Competence in using infrastructure monitoring and supervision tools.
  • Expertise in NAS/SAN storage systems.
  • In-depth knowledge or experience with the following network services and protocols: DNS, DHCP, VLAN, FTP, LDAP, SMB, NFS, CIFS, RIP, OSPF, SNMP, ICMP, SSH, NAT, routing, and proxy.
  • Availability to be on-call at all times for rapid intervention in case of emergencies.
  • Strong analytical skills, combined with a proactive and autonomous mindset.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively and integrate within a team.
  • Strong English written and verbal communication required - French considered an important asset

Responsibilities:

  • Actively contribute to the deployment of servers and network services across all facilities.
  • Install, configure, and manage firewalls, switches, servers to ensure infrastructure stability.
  • Administer, deploy, monitor, program, supervise, and secure network infrastructures, whether wired or wireless.
  • Participate in architecture and technological development projects, including drafting upgrade plans, optimizing hardware and software components, and modernizing existing infrastructures.
  • Diagnose technical errors and incidents, identify underlying causes, and implement solutions using tools such as log analysis, alerts, and diagnostics.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices, particularly in Networking.
  • Guarantee secure storage and protection of the organization’s data and software.
  • Write, update, and maintain comprehensive documentation, including operational and functional procedures, network master plans, system architectures, technical specifications, and training manuals.
  • Provide advanced technical support to meet the organization’s needs.
  • Perform any other related tasks assigned by management
