Responsibilities:
ABOUT THE ROLE
As the Sr. Network Administrator, the employee will be responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and design improvement of the corporate network infrastructure. The employee will report to and work in collaboration with the Lead Network Administrator and Director, Enterprise Network & Security to develop new solutions to be implemented at our various locations. The employee will also provide second level network support to helpdesk staff, system administrators and end users. The position is based out of one of our Canadian or US site and offer remote work possibilities. Travel to our other location is occasionally required.
WHAT YOU’LL DO HERE
- Assist in network design and implementation in accordance with corporate policies.
- Provide second level network support to IT personal and users.
- Install and configure network equipment and applications.
- Validate configuration and security of network equipment and applications.
- Maintain hardware, applications, and services.
- Evaluate and apply security patches to network equipment and applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues.
- Identify root cause and take corrective measures.
- Monitor network performance.
- Troubleshoot performance issues.
- Evaluate and recommend network improvements.
​ What You’ll Need to Succeed
- Computer degree or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years’ experience in network administration.
- English oral and written.
- Experience with Cisco Catalyst switches.
- Experience with Cisco Meraki switches and Access Points
- Experience with Fortinet and Palo Alto Networks firewalls
- Experience with Linux and other Unix like operating systems.
- Experience with Windows Server.
- Experience with firewall, VPN, VoIP, proxies, wireless and other networking technologies.
- Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (bash, PowerShell, etc.).
- Experience with MDM, virtualization, Cloud services.
- Experience dealing with contractors such as Cabling and ISP.
- CompTIA Network+, CCNA or CCNP certification is a must.
- Experience with customer service is a must.
