POSITION OVERVIEW:

Our client, a leader in their industry with nationwide operations, is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to design, support, secure, and maintain their corporate IT environments across multiple locations in Canada. This role covers both WAN and LAN infrastructure to ensure stable, secure, and reliable network performance, while proactively addressing cybersecurity risks. The Senior Network Administrator will be fluent in configuring Cisco firewalls and routers, with specific expertise in ASA operating systems, and will also manage remote access through Cisco AnyConnect. Acting as a backup to the Solutions Architect for VMware environments and backups, the successful candidate will combine technical expertise with exceptional customer focus and analytical problem-solving skills. This is a full-time, onsite role based at the organization’s head office in Winnipeg, MB.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Post-secondary education in Information Technology, Computer Science, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in IT network infrastructure roles.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ troubleshooting experience with hardware and software support.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service and relationship building.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize workloads in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Professional judgment, discretion with confidential information, and ability to work effectively as part of a small, supportive team.
  • Flexibility to assist in various tasks as required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage a corporate WAN spanning 50+ locations in a hub-and-spoke model.
  • Procure, configure, and maintain network-related hardware, including firmware updates and security patches.
  • Manage ISP connections for all sites, maintaining strong vendor relationships for support.
  • Track and manage service agreements for each location, including renewals.
  • Oversee server room environmental management, including network layout, power systems, UPS, generators, lighting, air flow, and cooling systems.
  • Administer DHCP, DNS, DMZ, and other network-related scopes.
  • Manage on-premise SIEM in partnership with external security providers.
  • Monitor all networks for security issues and manage internal SQL servers.
  • Administer domain registrations and renewals with designated providers.
  • Respond to service tickets, including after-hours on-call support for network or system outages.
  • Assist with procurement of IT hardware and software as needed.
